DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL

This 28-day incredible tour takes you through practically the whole of South India, consisting of the four major States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, as well as the Union Territory of Pondicherry.

Tamil Nadu is known as the State of Temples and you will be visiting the famous 7th century rock cut temples of Mahabalipuram, and the gigantic masterpiece - Meenakshi Temple of Madurai, dedicated to Goddess Parvathi – both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. While in Tamil Nadu, enjoy the toy train ride to Ooty, the beautiful hill station. At the southernmost tip of India lies Kanyakumari, where you will witness the three mighty oceans, Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea meet. Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the Sunrise and the Sunset are some memories that you will cherish always.

In the State of Karnataka, you will be taken to the capital Bangalore, also known as the Silicon Valley of India.  You will be visiting the famous Botanical garden here. In Karnataka lies Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its ruins of monolithic sculptures and monuments, reminder of a glorious past. Badami in Karnataka is famous for its ancient rock cut cave temples. While all these places have a majorly Hindu theme, the monuments in Bijapur and Gulbarga were majorly built by the erstwhile Muslim rulers.  Therefore, you will witness a confluence of Hindu and Muslim history in Karnataka.

Now lets take you to an entirely different place – Pondicherry, which comes as a breath of fresh air. It is a coastal city with a pronounced French flavour, as this place was ruled by the French till 1954. The cafes and churches are a firm reminder of foreign influence here. Surprisingly Pondicherry is also famous for its spiritual essence – it is home to Aurobindo and Auroville Ashrams where many Indian and foreign seekers dwell. You can wind up your day after the spiritual experience, on any of the beautiful beaches in the region.

This tour also takes you through the length and breadth of Kerala – widely known as “God’s Own Country”.  Kerala is an entirely different world – clean, green and glorious, with a multitude of attractions. While camping at premium resorts in Kerala, you will experience the  wildlife safari at Periyar (famous for tigers and elephants), an  overnight cruise on a houseboat in Alleppey backwaters, a visit to the mesmerizing hill station of Munnar with tea plantations all around . You will also get a chance to watch the iconic Kathakali dance performance in Kerala. 

Also lies on the western coast of Kerala is Cochin, with its distinct flavour, as the place  was occupied by the Portugese for a long time. It is a favorite place with tourists with its mesmerizing views of the sea, the backwaters, the forts, places and churches. Kochi is also the financial and commercial capital of Kerala and therefore also called the Queen of the Arabian Sea.

Finally in Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. You will get to explore the famous architectural wonders that would teleport you to era of the erstwhile Nizams rule.

DÍA 1 Chennai – Arrival +
Arrive at the airport and meet our guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel. Rest of the day is for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Chennai.
DÍA 2 Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +

After early breakfast, proceed for visits to the Fort St. George, Government Museum, vibrant Marina Beach and see the graceful St. Thomas Basilica. Also, visit the iconic Kapaleeshwara Temple . Later, drive to Pondicherry and en-route, explore the famous historic marvels of Mahabalipuram. Here you would visit the beautiful shore temple, Five Rathas (Chariots), and the Arjuna`s Penance. Continue drive to Pondicherry. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Day spent at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Pondicherry.

DÍA 3 Pondicherry – Sightseeing +
Today after breakfast, proceed for sightseeing and visit Pondicherry Museum, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Arulmigu Manakula, Vinayagar Temple, Seaside Promenade & French colonies. In the evening, spend time at the beach. Overnight stay at hotel in Pondicherry
DÍA 4 Pondicherry – Tanjore – Trichy (By Road: 6 Hours Drive) +
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Trichy, en-route visit the attractions of Tanjore city. Here you would visit the world-famous Brihandeswara Temple, the Palace of Tanjore and the Bronze Museum. Continue drive to Trichy. Upon arrival, check in the hotel after some relaxation, proceed for Trichy Sightseeing covering the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, with intricately-carved gopurams (towering gateways), and Jambukeswarar-Akilandeswari Temple. Overnight stay at hotel in Trichy.
DÍA 5 Trichy - Madurai (By Road: 2 Hours Drive) +

After breakfast, continue Trichy sightseeing tour where you would explore the iconic Temples of Trichy. Later, drive to Madurai. Upon arrival, visit the Puthu Mandapam and Pillared Hall (which now houses a Museum of Temple Art.) The streets and markets around the temple bustle with pilgrims, traders and locals going about their daily business. Enjoy an atmospheric tour of the Meenakshi temple complex. Later, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day kept for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Madurai.

DÍA 6 Madurai - Kanyakumari (By Road: 5 Hours Drive) +
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Proceed to the Kanyakumari. Upon arrival. gear up for a city tour including visits to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Temple. Later, check in at the hotel. In the evening, enjoy the Sunset Views. Overnight stay at hotel in Kanyakumari.
DÍA 7 Kanyakumari – Kovalam (By Road: 2 Hours Drive) +
Morning breakfast at leisure. Check out from the hotel by 12:00 noon and proceed for Kovalam. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Unwind for the day at the beach. Overnight stay at hotel in Kovalam.
DÍA 8 Kovalam – Leisure +

Wake up and settle for a hearty breakfast. Day spent at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Kovalam.

DÍA 9 Kovalam – Kollam (By Road: 2 Hours Drive) +
After a leisurely breakfast, proceeds to Kollam. Upon arrival, visit Thangassery Light House and spend time at the Kollam Beach. Later, check in at the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Kollam.
DÍA 10 Kollam – Alleppey (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +
After early breakfast, head to Alleppey. By Noon, board your Houseboat (01 Bedroom AC Deluxe Houseboat) from the Vembanad Houseboat jetty for an overnight cruise with on-board lunch and dinner, covering the nearby villages and the ethnic life around these villages to Alleppey, through the famous Vembanad Lake. Overnight stay at houseboat in Alleppey.
DÍA 11 Alleppey– Kumarakom (By Road: 1 Hour Drive) +

After a leisurely breakfast, head to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, visit the famous Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Thanneermukkom Bridge and Bay Island Driftwood Museum. Later, check in at the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Kumarakom.

DÍA 12 Kumarakom – Periyar (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +
After morning breakfast, drive to Periyar. Reach the hotel and check in. After some relaxation, proceed to visit Periyar wildlife sanctuary for a Boat ride (01:30 / 02:00 hrs) at the Periyar Lake. It is one of the the best ways to explore the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Later, go on am Elephant Safari through the Spice Gardens where you would learn more about the spices grown in this area. Overnight stay at hotel in Periyar.
DÍA 13 Periyar – Munnar (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +

Wake up and settle for breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Drive to Munnai. On reaching, check-in at the luxury resort. Day spent at leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel/Resort in Munnar.

DÍA 14 Munnar – Sightseeing +
Enjoy your breakfast. Day starts with Munnar sightseeing tour. Munnar is named after three Rivers- Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly. Munnar is known to be a popular touristic spot in Kerala that showcases gorgeous, surreal views of Tea and Spice plantations. Visit popular places like Tea Museum, Munnar Tea estate, Mattupetty Dam, and the Eravikulam National Park. Overnight stay at hotel in Munnar.
DÍA 15 Munnar – Cochin (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +

Early morning breakfast followed by drive to Cochin. Upon arrival, enjoy a day tour of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry, Mattancherry Palace and witness the famous Chinese Fishing Nets. In the evening, get ready to enjoy a Kathakali dance performance accompanied by a gong, drums and cymbals. Kathakali performers combine dance and theatre in a ritualistic portrayal of Gods and Demons. Later, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Cochin.

DÍA 16 Cochin – Ooty (By Road: 7 Hours Drive) +
Wake up and settle for breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Drive to Ooty. Upon arrival, check-in the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Ooty.
DÍA 17 Ooty – Coonoor (By Toy Train: 1 Hour) +

Wake up and enjoy breakfast in morning. Check out from the hotel. Transfer to Ooty railway station for Toy Train to Coonoor - Train No: 06139 (Udagamandalam - Coonoor Special) which departs at 09:15 am and reaches Coonoor by 10:20 1-hour train. You will be picked up from Coonoor railway station. Tour proceeds with visit to the Avalanche Lake (40 Kms | 1.5 Hours). Return to the hotel and relax for the day. In the evening, get ready for boat ride at the Ooty Lake to enjoy pleasant environment of the fantastic place. Overnight stay at hotel in Ooty.

DÍA 18 Ooty – Mysore (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +
After early breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Mysore. Upon reaching, visit the gorgeous Mysore Palace, Jaganmohan Palace and the surreal Brindavana Gardens. Later, check-in at the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at hotel in Mysore.
DÍA 19 Mysore – Bangalore (By Road: 3 Hours Drive) +
After a leisurely breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Bangalore. Upon reaching, visit the Avenue Road, Bangalore Palace and Bull Temple. Later, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Bangalore.

After breakfast, get ready for a sightseeing tour of Hampi. You will visit the Group of Monument in Hampi, Virupaksha Temple and Vithala Temple Complex. Overnight stay at hotel in Hampi.
DÍA 24 Hampi - Bijapur (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +
Wake up and settle for breakfast. Later, drive to Bijapur. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and after some relaxation, get ready to explore the Fort Bijapur, Ibrahim Roza, Jamiya Masjid Malik-E-Maidan, and Asar Mahal. Overnight stay at hotel in Bijapur.
DÍA 25 Bijapur – Gulbarga (Kalaburagi) | (By Road: 4 Hours Drive) +
After a leisure breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Gulbarga. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and after some relaxation, it's time for a day excursion to the Gulbarga Fort, Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah and The Haft Gumbaz Tomb. Overnight stay at hotel in Gulbarga.
DÍA 26 Gulbarga - Hyderabad | (By Road: 5 Hours Drive) +
After morning breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Hyderabad. Upon reaching, check-in at the hotel. After some relaxation, visit the Char Minar and enjoy shopping at the local bazaars of the city. Overnight stay at hotel in Hyderabad.
DÍA 27 Hyderabad – Sightseeing +
After morning breakfast, get ready to explore the city of Hyderabad. Visit the Golconda Fort which is an untouched grandeur of India. The fort was completed in 1600s and still stands as the most eminent monument of the country. The history, the legends, the architecture adds charm to the tour making your tour interesting and worthwhile. Later, visit the Taj Falaknuma Palace that offers a a luxury setting with an array of amenities designed with an ideal mix of value, comfort and convenience. Later, head to Salarjung Museum and Mecca Masjid that will add charm to your tour. Overnight stay at hotel in Hyderabad.

Mi viaje salió realmente muy bien. La gestión y organización del viaje fueron absolutamente perfectas. Los hoteles fueron excelentes, el itinerario estuvo bien planificado y el equipo mantuvo un contacto regular conmigo durante todo el viaje, lo que me dio mucha tranquilidad. En general, todo salió muy bien. Lo único que me pareció insuficiente fue el tiempo asignado en Gulmarg. Solo tuve medio día en Gulmarg, lo cual no fue suficiente para disfrutar plenamente del destino. Lo mejor del viaje fue, sin duda, el conductor, Adil. Pasas mucho tiempo con tu conductor y contar con un buen conductor marca una gran diferencia. Adil hizo todo lo posible para adaptarse a mis necesidades y ayudarme en todo lo que fuera posible. Aportó un toque personal a cada aspecto del viaje. Fue muy profesional y estuvo siempre dispuesto a orientarme y ayudarme cuando fue necesario. En general, fue un viaje fantástico y sin duda recomendaría esta experiencia a mis amigos y familiares. Descubrimiento ¡Una experiencia excelente! Viajamos entre temporadas, por lo que no pudimos disfrutar de los paisajes de flores, manzanas  y nieve, pero pudimos centrarnos en el aspecto cultural del viaje. El paisaje rural es precioso, al igual que las ciudades, las mezquitas y, sobre todo, su gente. Nuestro guía y conductor, Faisel y Hussein (disculpen si he escrito mal sus nombres), fueron ideales para esta experiencia. Ambos demostraron una gran pasión y conocimiento por su país, su cultura y su fe. Tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar pueblos, ciudades, montañas, parques y mezquitas, y en muchos lugares sentimos que éramos los únicos viajeros. ¡Una gran ventaja de viajar en esta época del año! En todos los lugares que visitamos, incluidos los encantadores hoteles, nos recibieron con una gran hospitalidad y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos.
