Nestles at a height of 3524 metres (approx. 11,562 ft), it bridges Srinagar to National Highway 1D and Manali in the south via Leh-Manali Highway. The weather is very cold and unkind during winters, thus causing frost bites. Thus, the best time to visit is from June, July, August and September.

Leh Ladakh is lush with its Willow and Poplar trees that are in full bloom in summers, which is the main tourist season.
